Leave the Atlantic coast behind and spend a full day discovering the landscapes and cultures that make southern Morocco unforgettable. Starting with a comfortable hotel pickup at 8:30 AM, your air-conditioned 4×4 heads south through the Souss Valley as the city gives way to open countryside and the light begins to turn warm.
Your first stop is a traditional pottery workshop where local Amazigh artisans have been shaping clay by hand for generations. Watch them work, ask questions, and understand a craft that has barely changed in centuries. From there, the road leads to the wild Atlantic coast at Sidi R'bat — known locally as Savage Beach — where you will explore extraordinary fishermen's caves carved directly into the sea cliffs. The combination of crashing waves, dark basalt rock, and the smell of salt air is like nowhere else in Morocco.
Next comes Tiznit, the walled Silver City. The ancient medina here is one of the most authentic in the south — no tourist tat, just real souks where Amazigh silversmiths hammer intricate jewellery using techniques passed down through families for hundreds of years. Walk the ramparts, browse the stalls, and let your guide tell you the story of this remarkable town.
Lunch is served at a local Amazigh family home: slow-cooked lamb tagine, a generous couscous, seasonal salads, fresh fruit, and the mint tea that seems to flow endlessly in Moroccan homes. It is home cooking at its finest.
The afternoon takes you to the Rasmouka dunes — Morocco's "Mini Sahara" — for your camel ride. The dunes here are golden and dramatic, and the Amazigh handlers who look after these animals are warm, patient, and happy to ensure you get the photographs you came for. The camel ride is included in the price, with no surprises on the day.
Before heading home you stop at the panoramic viewpoint above the Youssef Ibn Tachfine Dam — a huge reservoir that carves through the desert landscape with a drama that catches everyone off guard. Back at your hotel by around 5:00 PM.
